Dreaming Of A Road Trip with My VW Atlas
When I picture my family on a road trip, I picture a large SUV with room for my husband, son and I, the dog, all of our gear and maybe another baby…or two. I see us cruising down the open road with the sun beaming through the sunroof, the wind whistling by and our favourite playlist singing through the speakers. We are digitally connected and packed to the brim with adventures to be had. I get that it is quite the list of must-haves so last week, the whole family + my Mum (AND the dog) went to the Canadian International Auto Show to look for the perfect vehicle for said road trip. We were hosted by Volkswagen Canada, their team of experts and the debonair, Dean the Bassett Hound.
They walked us through the latest that Volkswagen has to offer from the 2018 e-Golf, to the redesigned 2019 Jetta, to the super sleek, all new 2019 Arteon, brand new to North America this year. Besides exploring lots of shiny new cars, we also played with lots of other pups, 3D printed Volkswagen keychains and used VR technology to interactively journey through four different seasons with a trusty Volkswagen as our guide.

It was love at first sight- 7 seats (2 captain’s chairs), roomy and comfortable, curves in all the right places, all-wheel drive, personalized digital cockpit, WIFI with digital display…the list of wins went on and on. If this were Tinder, I think this is where I would swipe right.
My son and dog practiced getting in and out of the SUV, stowing seats and of course, driving. No matter where we wandered we seemed to ‘come home’ to the comfort, versatility and allure of the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas.
Sadly, as we left the show, we were not able to take the Atlas with us but when I day dream of our family road trip again tomorrow, this time I know which car we will be in.
