An intermission from Sarah Kay

I have some fabulous ideas for blogs but unfortunately, I am knee deep in final submission papers. Give me a week or two and I will have something fresh and exciting!

In the meantime, please listen to this beautiful poem by spoken word poet, Sarah Kay. My mother sent me this link with the comment: This made me think of you. Yes- I cried….sobbed even.

This poem, entitled, ‘If I should have a daughter…’ will move you- encompass your body for those few minutes in which Sarah recites this piece.

If you have time, listen to her entire talk- if nothing else, you should chuckle to yourself and maybe internalize a line or two. If you are lucky, the video will end and you will consider your own spoken word, and what you would say, if you should have a daughter.

Enjoy!
